From its pivotal location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia and embedded in the traditional winemaking of the ancient world, the city of Tbilisi hosted its renowned Winexpo from June 7-9, 2024. With well over 1000 wines available to sample, the atmosphere on these beautiful summer days in Tbilisi turned quickly into a welcoming event for Georgians and internationals alike. We sampled from all three categories of small, medium, and large producers.

WinExpo Georgia is a leading exhibition in the wine industry, giving the best opportunity to Georgian wine producers to present themselves on both local and international markets. Attracting more than 4000 visitors every year and presenting up to 100 different companies, this year’s expo allowed for an immense exploration of Georgian winemakers. Saperavi Brothers’ producers were well represented, including Chelti Winery, Georgian Legend, and Tbilvino. The event is centered around a panel of widely selected sommeliers and wine experts, headed by MW Tim Atkin (UK). Our producer Chelti Winery was awarded numerous medals, including three gold medals. 

The expo continued Saperavi Brothers’ mission of fostering producer relationships, supporting Georgian winemakers of all shapes and sizes, and exploring new wines for the U.S. market. Congratulations to all the winemakers on continuing to grow the dynamic and diverse Georgian winemaking tradition!
