Saperavi Brothers was founded by Kosta Chernikov with a singular focus: to import Georgian wine and build the category in the United States through firsthand market experience. From the outset, this mission has been clear- to make Georgian wine a permanent, respected section in wine shops across the country.

With 10+ years of self-distribution in Massachusetts and New York, Kosta has built hundreds of on- and off-premise accounts, conducted thousands of tastings (hit 173 total for 2025), supported brand development (added 6 new producers to the profile in 2025), and engaged directly with consumers and trade. This hands-on work has produced deep, practical knowledge of how Georgian wine performs at retail and on wine lists. 

With this foundation and a proven track record, Kosta is positioned to help others build on their mission to make Georgian wine a respected category across the country. He offers independent, fee-based Georgian wine education to distributors working with Georgian wines, and to producers looking to break into the U.S. market.
