Tilisma Winery: Playful and Seriously Drinkable

Earlier this summer, Saperavi Brothers had the opportunity to further explore Tilisma Winery, a small family-run winery making “natural wines with soul”. This visit turned into a full-blown partnership, and we’re excited to introduce this gem to our portfolio.

Tilisma Winery is run by Ketevan Akolashvili and Christian Hubert, who transformed a piece of Ketevan’s family vineyard into something genuinely modern, yet deeply Georgian. From the outside, the winery feels like a family estate, but step into their qvevri cellar, and you’ll see the magic: old-school clay vessels, sitting quietly beneath the surface, gently fermenting the region’s iconic grapes.

Tilisma does things naturally. Their objective is to produce low-intervention natural wines and promote environmentally friendly viticulture practices, with their 12 hectares of vines hand-tended and harvested. With wines that are made with minimal intervention, you taste what the grape, and the land, intended. Saperavi Brothers is all about wines with story and place, and Tilisma’s approach hit every mark. From crisp pét-nats to bold qvevri-aged reds, their lineup is both playful and seriously drinkable.

These wines are perfect for natural wine bars, adventurous restaurants, and anyone looking to dive deeper into Georgia’s unique winemaking culture. And the name “Tilisma”? It means “talisman”—a nod to protection, mystery, and maybe a bit of winemaking magic. Tilisma needs to be shared, and we’re thrilled to announce that Saperavi Brothers is now importing Tilisma wines. This collaboration checks all the boxes: women-led, family-built, and always made with care. Georgian wine just got a little more exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
