Winemaker

This symbol of balance and harmony is the philosophy behind Pi Winery and its founding family. In 2020, Teona Omarashvili teamed up with her uncle Levan, to officially brand Pi Wines after years of family centered winemaking. This wine pays tribute to the eternal- like the number π, and reflects a pursuit of perfection that never truly ends. With roots in ancient soil, each sip brings you closer to the elegance of nature’s own equation.

Balance has always been important to Teona, in both life and winemaking. It is something she learned from her grandmother, a pharmacist and a great cook. She would give Teona a little sip of Saperavi with dinner when she was young, calling it “medicine,” and that’s when Pi’s love for this “bloody” red wine began.

Winery

Pi Winery emphasizes low-intervention techniques as a reflection of this balance, producing up to 7,000 bottles annually. They have been highlighted in numerous international competitions and have had success entering the European market, with the U.S. market on the horizon.

Vineyard

Pi’s vineyard is located in Akura, the region of Kakheti, Georgia at an elevation of 620 meters with 19 year-old vines. The soil consists of clay-loam, calcerous, and alkaline. Farming practices include lutte raisonnée, sustainability, and moon phases.
