A Dog in Georgia: A Novel

Femme Fête with Simonica and Tilisma Winery
Femme Fête comes to Boston in February 2026, bringing a signature mix of great wine, inspiring stories, and women-led creativity to the city. Femme Fête is celebrating female makers from around the world, and this year Georgia is making a particularly strong impression. Among the many gifted producers pouring in Boston are two of Saperavi Brothers’ producers: Simonica and Tilisma Winery.
Chelti Winery: Age-Worthy Georgian Wines
Ana Mirianashvili of Chelti Winery was recently interviewed by the wine and spirits platform Unicorn on the age-worthiness of Georgian wines. The article’s writer Carissa Chesanek details the history of Georgian wines as highly age-worthy due to ancient winemaking traditions, particularly the use of qvevri, underground clay vessels that allow slow, stable fermentation and maturation. These methods produce structured red wines from Saperavi and amber wines from Rkatsiteli with strong longevity.
From New York City: Amber Georgia Wine Fair 2025
On November 8th, more than 30 winemakers from Georgia gathered in Brooklyn for a first-of-its-kind celebration: the Amber Georgia Wine Fair. Organized by the Natural Wine Association of Georgia, the National Wine Agency of Georgia, and New York’s Ruffian Wine Bar, the wine fair offered an immersive experience into one of Georgia’s most distinctive wine traditions.
Tamar Wines
Tamar Wines is led by Patrick Honnef. After numerous careers, Patrick decided to follow his passion for wine. In 2003, he made his way to Bordeaux, which led to 10 years of winemaking, viticulture, and management at Chateau d’Aiguilhe. With this experience, the challenge of Chateau Mukhrani (CHM) in Georgia and the fascination of contributing to the renaissance of Georgian wine culture made him decide to move to Georgia and to become the Technical Director and CEO of CHM. By 2023, Georgian Wines and Spirits became another jewel under his responsibility. Together with Manuchar Meskhidze, and Nika Natroshvili- the Chief viticulturist- Tamar strives to offer the joy of wine.
