Traveling to Georgia with Saperavi Brothers
Some trips do more than inform, they reframe everything for our customers.
Kosta recently traveled to Georgia as a guide for two Boston-based wine industry representatives and officially introduced them to the Georgian wine scene. The group started in Tbilisi at the Zero Compromise Wine Festival, a gathering that, for those who haven’t attended, is hard to describe without underselling it. Dozens of producers working with minimal intervention, all pouring with the kind of quiet pride that comes from knowing exactly what they’ve made, including our very own Nini of Simonica Wines.
From Tbilisi, they headed east into Kakheti to visit three producers in the Saperavi Brothers portfolio: Chubini, Marmenio, and Tilisma. Tasting with the winemakers on their own land with the vines in view was, by all accounts, the kind of experience that makes the work feel worth it. The wine industry reps returned home with a deeper appreciation for what our producers are building, and became two new advocates in Boston who now have a story to tell alongside every bottle.
Saperavi Brothers will be hosting more guided travel trips to Georgia in the future. Be sure to contact us for all the details!
